Social Recreation

All social recreation classes are vendored by Tri-Counties Regional Center. We offer a 3 students-to-1 staff member support ratio.  If you need more support for behaviors or self-care, we ask that you bring a 1:1 support person to participate in class. Creative Arts

Students will be exposed to a variety of media and projects that get those creative juices flowing. Art projects will be grounded in students’ personal interests and future goals. Art methods include drawing, painting, ceramics, crafts, and more.

Ceramics & Sculpting

Beginners are welcome! Explore the joy of working with clay in a welcoming, hands-on ceramics class designed for people of all abilities. Participants will learn basic techniques like hand-building, slab work, and glazing while creating unique pieces in a supportive, sensory-friendly environment. No experience needed — just curiosity and creativity!

Music Jam Sessions

This course offers a supportive and creative space where participants use music to explore emotions, enhance communication, and improve overall well-being. Through activities like listening, songwriting, improvisation, and rhythm-based exercises, the course is tailored to individual needs and goals.

Joyful Movement

Sign up for an adaptive movement-based class that inspires joy while developing motor planning and regulation skills. The course promotes strength, cardio, and flexibility. Students will workout in small groups of 2-3.

Yoga

Join us for a personalized approach to yoga, using props, modified poses, and supportive guidance to ensure accessibility, safety, and comfort for all participants. The course promotes strength, flexibility, and mindfulness while honoring each person's body and limitations. (45 minutes)

Brain & Motor Games

This inclusive social skills class combines fun, engaging activities that support connection, communication, and teamwork. Through cognitive and brain games, motor skill challenges, and movement-based group activities, participants will strengthen problem-solving, coordination, and cooperation. The class fosters an environment where everyone can build confidence, make friends, and develop social-emotional skills through play and active participation.

$60 per 45-minute class

Dream Team Program

The Dream Team day-time learning and activity program can be funded using Self-Determination Program (SDP) funds or private pay. We offer half-day (9am-1pm) and full day (9am-3pm) packages. Email us to for more information at thedreamcommunitycenter@gmail.com.

Morning Self-Regulation

This course offers practical self-regulation strategies to help individuals navigate social settings with greater ease and confidence. Through a blend of meditation, breathing exercises, journaling, mindful movement, and nervous system education, participants will build tools for emotional balance and self-awareness. The class also features guest speakers who bring diverse perspectives on wellness, creating a dynamic and supportive environment for personal growth and connection.

Self-Advocacy & Socializing

Develop self-advocacy and social skills through creative, real-world tools like social media, blogs, and podcasts. Participants will learn how to express themselves clearly, share their stories, and connect meaningfully with others in both digital and in-person settings through guided activities and collaborative projects.

Participant-Directed Projects & Outings

This class empowers students to take the lead in planning educational projects, recreational activities, and community outings that reflect their personal needs and interests. Through guided support, participants develop decision-making, collaboration, and self-advocacy skills while engaging in meaningful, real-world experiences within their community.

Healthy & Inclusive Life Skills

This course empowers adults with disabilities to lead confident, independent, and inclusive lives by building essential life skills. Topics include managing personal services, developing healthy relationships, preparing for emergencies, making smart choices for physical and emotional well-being, and practicing everyday money management. Through interactive lessons and real-life scenarios, participants will gain practical tools to navigate life with greater independence and self-assurance.

Brain & Motor Games

Skill Building 

We offer 1-to-1 skill building sessions in functional skills and augmentative and alternative communication skills. Sessions can be funded using Self-Determination Program (SDP) funds or private pay. Please see our Participant Handbook, which outlines our policies, terms, and conditions, as well as our Privacy Policy.

Functional Skills

Students will learn and strengthen social, communication, and self-help skills essential for active community participation. The course provides continuing education opportunities to explore personal interests and build self-advocacy skills. Instruction may also integrate the use of augmentative and alternative communication to support effective interaction and independence, as needed.

$60 per 50-minute session (through the end of 2025)

Communication Skills

Beginners are welcome! Students will learn and strengthen skills in multimodal, text-based communication, including letter boards, alphabet stencils, choices, tables and keyboards.  We follow the Communication for Education curriculum to help students access different ways of communicating, responding, and interacting with others.

$60 per 50-minute session (through the end of 2025)
